Affiliate Disclosure

The short version

Some links on Melanin Match are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That is how we keep the app free. We only link to products we actually recommend based on the match data.

What this means in practice

• 01Every product card in the match results that includes a "buy" link is an affiliate link. The card is clearly labelled.
• 02Affiliate relationships do not affect which shades we match you to. Matches are calculated purely by Delta E colour distance. A shade with no affiliate link will appear in your results if it is your closest match.
• 03We currently work with UK affiliate networks including Awin and Amazon Associates. The retailer you end up buying from depends on which affiliate links are available for a given shade.
• 04Clicking an affiliate link does not share any of your scan data, LAB values, or account information with the retailer. We send you to their product page. That is it.

Compliance

This disclosure is required by the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for websites that earn commissions from affiliate links. We believe in being upfront about it regardless.
